History of transport on post stamps

Transport - land, sea and air - has been the subject of post stamps since the beginning of their existence, which is from 19th century. The motifs connected with transport are often depicted on the post stamps: cars, steam, electric and magnetic railway, ships and planes. Some part of the stamps present current inventions and new transport techniques. On the other hand, other stamps present the most important historical achievements in this area of life (e.g. the biggest and fastest cars, places and catchers).
