Brasov is a large city located in the central part of Romania. It was founded by the Teutonic Knights in 1211. Brasov is distinguished by a large Old Town, which has very diverse architecture. Around the main square known as Piaţa Sfatului there are historic tenement houses with pastel facades and dark red roofs. Apart from them, tourists can admire a neo-Byzantine Orthodox church, late Gothic town hall, monumental Black Church from the 15th century as well as well-preserved city walls with gates and towers. Brasov is often called Romanian Cracow by tourists from Poland.
