Skyscrapers in Houston (USA)
Houston is the largest city in the state of Texas and the fourth largest city in the United States. It was founded in 1836 by two businessmen from New York, who named the new town in honor of Sam Houston, the American commander who fought to join Texas to the United States. The city began to grow quickly - firstly as a commercial port, then as a place of oil extraction, and finally as the aeronautics center as the NASA base was opened in Houston. The wealth of the city is expressed in its panorama – it is one of the ten highest in the world.
