Goulash is a spicy dish, which is served hot. This dish comes from Hungary, where it was initially eaten by the shepherds. Traditional Hungarian goulash consisted of meat, onions and peppers. Depending on the used meat, the dish had different names, e.g. beef stew is called marhapörkölt. Currently, different varieties of this filling dish are known all over Europe. Thick, essential sauce, chunks of meat and vegetables in the company of other ingredients such as groats, rice or lentils, are a recipe for a delicious dinner. Stew is great for cold weather and complements the energy deficits of hard-working people.
