Curry is a collective name of Indian cuisine, based on stewed meat and vegetables in a thick, aromatic sauce. Spicy goulash-like dish is often served with long-grain basmati rice and is currently very popular in many countries. The name curry is also known as a variety of masala, i.e. a mixture of spices, which includes turmeric, ginger, cumin, coriander, mustard, black pepper and chili. Originally, the British colonizers took a ready-made composition in powder form to their homeland to be able to recreate the exotic flavors of India at home.
