Mexican cuisine is derived from the culinary customs of the Indians and participants of the Spanish military expeditions, who began to import food products previously unknown in the colonized areas: mainly cereals, vegetables and dairy products. Among Important ingredients of Mexican dishes there are legumes, corn, tomatoes, peppers and onions, as well as hot spices. A popular way of preparing and serving hot dishes is wrapping them or putting them into corn or wheat flour tortillas. They form the basis of such delicacies as taco, burrito or quesadilla.
