Johann Strauss Monument in Vienna (Austria)

Johann Strauss (son) - the Austrian composer, violinist and conductor – was one of the most famous Positivism musicians. In Austria Strauss was the chief musician of the National Guard and the director of balls on the Vienna court. The artist frequently gave concerts in Europe and the USA. His most famous compositions are the waltz "The Blue Danube" and the operetta "Die Fledermaus". In recognition of Strauss’ achievements the Austrians founded him a gilded monument in the centre of City Park in Vienna. It is one of the most often photographed monuments in the world.
