The Komodo National Park is the archipelago of islands located between south-east of Asia and the coast of Australia. It was founded in 1980 and it was named after the largest island that belongs to the protected area. It is known mostly to the Komodo dragon – the world’s largest lizard. It is an endemic species of a reptile (it occurs only at the area of the park). Tourists visit the park mostly due to excellent snorkeling conditions.
