Lighthouse in Darlowo (Poland)

Lights where Wieprza river (a river in North-Western Poland) flows into the Batic Sea were first mentioned in 1715. The history of a lighthouse in Darlowo (Darłowo) began in 1885. In the beginning there was a brick building for piloting ships built. In 1927 there was a square tower built and later the tower gained a metal lighthouse. The lighthouse in Darlowo with its 22 meters height is one of the lowest at the Polish seaside. However, its light perfectly guides sailors as it is seen even from 30 kilometers.
