Flower of lotus has been stirring the imagination of artists, philosophers and spiritual leaders for centuries. Greek, Egyptian or Hindu legends and beliefs related to the flower seem to confirm the magical qualities of lotus and its affiliation with the world of gods. According to an ancient story, this flower was created from the drop of Shiva’s blood, which fell on white lilies and significantly changed their color. Among intensively purple and slightly pointed petals there are plenty of small stamens surrounding a pistil. Lotus majestatically floats on the surface of water, surrounded by flat round leaves. A yellow center of the flower contrasts beautifully with amaranthine petals, making an impression that the plant is illuminated from the inside.
