Lupine is a plant is a genus of flowering plants in the legume family, which has impressive blossoms of an intense color and nice smell. Its petals are concentrated in clusters, which have an elongated shape. Purple, violet and salmon-pink lupines are most common. It is a popular garden plant that is often planted in larger groups in order to maximize a visual experience. Lupine also grows in the natural environment, on the meadows or fields. Breathtaking landscapes with blooming lupine can be found, among others, in the vicinity of Tekapo Lake – the post-glacial body of water in New Zealand. The lake is situated on the mountainous South Island, where the landscape of the Southern Alps range is enriched by the crystal-clear surface of post-glacial bodies of water as well as endless meadows full of flowers.
