Bird’s eye view of Miami (USA)
When one looks at the maps of cities in the United States or admires bird’s eye view pictures there is one thing that catches attention – it is the layout of streets as most of them cross perpendicularly or run parallel to one another. It is difficult to find a similar layout is European cities. It results from the way in which urban development is planned. In Europe cities were created in a natural way, the settlements that had existed before were transformed into cities. On the other hand, the development of cities in the USA was often planned by superior authorities, which made the creation of such a regular layout of streets possible.
