Miramare is a part of the Italian city of Trieste, about 7 km away from the centre. On its territory there is a large park, in which in 19th century the castle was erected as a residence of Austrian archduke Maximilian Habsburg and his wife Charlotte. Inside of the castle there are several dozens of richly ornamented chambers. At present there is a museum in the castle, where it is possible to see a precious collection of oriental vases as well as original furniture and decorations from the middle of 19th century. Two halls deserve a special attention: the music one, where the piano Charlotte used to play is to be found, and the throne one which has been restored to the former glory.
