Singapore is a city-state located on an island at the tip of the Malay Peninsula. It is known for its rapid economic growth and a high rate of GDP growth – for these reasons the country belongs to the so-called Asian tigers. Singapore is known worldwide for its modern architecture and the richness of Asian culture, as well as very restrictive law. In Singapore it is not allowed, on pain of a fine, to chew a gum in public places, use vulgar words, pick flowers or trample lawns. What is more, couples should not express their feelings in public.
