Monet's house in Giverny (France)
The village of Giverny lies in Upper Normandy, in the Valley of the river Siena. It is also the place where an outstanding painter Claude Monet lived and died. Tourists may explore the artist's house and a garden full of colorful flowers. The Foundation of Claude Monet, which was established in 1980, restored the building and the adjacent green areas to their former glory. Near the house there is also a pond overgrown with flowering water lilies, which were immortalized by the artist in a series titled The Water Lilies. Visitors to the Monet’s estate can stroll along the alleys full of flowers and admire the reproductions of his most famous works inside the house.
