Monte Carlo is the best known district of Monaco located on the Ligurian Sea. It is situated on a prominent escarpment. There are beautiful beaches, tropical gardens and numerous casinos, including the one designed in the 19th century by Charles Garnier, the famous creator of Paris Opera. Monte Carlo hosts tennis tournaments, the Formula One Monaco Grand Prix and the famous Monte Carlo Rally. The district of Monte Carlo attracts tourists, millionaires and artists. Port Hercules in Monte Carlo is also very impressive as luxurious yachts and motorboats are moored there. The part was used as a location in the James Bond film GoldenEye (1995).
