Morskie Oko (Poland)
Morskie Oko (literal translation from Polish: Eye of the Sea), in the past called also the Fish Lake (Polish: Rybie Oko), is the largest post-glacial lake in the Tatra Mountains, situated on the height of almost 1400 m. The lake is picturesquely surrounded by numerous mountains. Beautiful landscape of that place is complemented by unusual nature of the Tatra Mountains, among which two forms of plants are prevalent: dwarf mountain pine and stone pine. Morskie Oko, which is the starting point in the excursion to Rysy - the highest peak in the Polish Tatras, is a great tourist attraction, visited annually by thousands of people.
