Nectarines
Nectarine is a variety of peach (it differs from peach as it has a smoother peel). The origin of this fruit has been unclear until recently: some claimed that nectarines are a cross of peach and plum, some others claim that they are a "pure" variety of peach. Nectarines are grown mostly in Europe, both Americas and South Africa. This fruit is very tasty and healthy; it may be consumed raw or in the form of jam, compote, juice or jelly. Nectarines are often used as an additive to cakes and ice-cream.
