New Orleans, an American city in the delta of the Mississippi river, was founded in 1718 by French settlers. So far, the French Quater has been the landmark of New Orleans – it is dominated by brick buildings with distinctive metal balconies with rich ornaments. It is the oldest part of the city and its cultural and entertainment center. The quarter is vibrant with jazz music, there are restaurants, pubs and shops where we can buy, among other things, voodoo dolls and colorful necklaces at Mardi Gras.
