New Year's Eve and New Year are celebrated boisterously in many large cities around the world. It is no different in Hong Kong, where the celebrations start with a solemn parade, during which you can admire colorful platforms in fantastic shapes, crowds of dancers and performers dressed in unusual costumes as well as numerous art shows, including a parade with the traditional Chinese dragon. The parade is accompanied by a breathtaking spectacle of music and light, which covers the main streets of the city. The fireworks show over the Bay of Victoria is the focal point of the New Year’s celebrations. It is worth remembering that the Chinese New Year is a movable feast, which usually falls in late January or February.
