Town Hall in Nové Město nad Metují (Czech Republic)
Nové Město is the Czech settlement on the river Metuje that was founded by Jan Černčický from Kacow in 1501. The biggest tourist attractions include the castle, the Baroque Monastery of the Brothers of Mercy and the sixteenth-century Church of the Holy Trinity located at Jan Hus Square. The town’s market is surrounded by rows of burgher houses with arcades and facades painted in pastel colors. There are many statues in Nové Město. One of them is located at the Republic Square and commemorates the fallen during the First and Second World Wars. This statue is located on a green island in the middle of the intersection, next to the New Town Hall.
