Dried fruit is the term referring to small, sweet foods such as dried and candied fruit, nuts and almonds, which are added to a variety of dishes and desserts or served as a snack itself. Both nuts and dried fruits are caloric and nutritious, for that reason they are perfect during the time of increased physical effort. Thanks to the fact that they do not take up a lot of space, it is worth having them during a long journey or hiking. Although dried fruit and nuts are much healthier than sweets, people who are sedentary and struggling with overweight should not consume them in large quantities.
