Osborne 1
Osborne 1 was the first portable computer in history. One may say that it is the progenitor of today's laptops. Although its appearance is slightly different from the computers we use on a daily basis, its function was similar. The 12-kilogram case contained the central unit along with a 5-inch monochrome screen and two disk drives. The version sold with the software had keyboard overlays to facilitate the use of the included software. The computer was equipped with 64kB RAM and the Zilog Z80 processor, known for ZX Spectrum, was its heart. The first portable computer with the software cost about 2,000 US dollars.
