Painted Eggs
People have known Easter eggs since the ancient times (they were present in the culture of Mesopotamia or in old Egypt). An egg itself has always been perceived as a magical item, a peculiar amulet, which was meant to protect against evil. These qualities could have been strengthened by painting of proper signs on shells. Today the magical nature of Easter eggs has been lost completely, however, they are undoubtedly a peculiar representative of Easter.
