Palace of Winds (India)
Jaipur is located in the north-western part of India, in Rajasthan. The Palace of Winds is one of the most important structures located in the city, it resembles a decorative screen. This narrow building constructed of red sandstone was finished in 1799. A distinctive five-story facade of the palace is covered by more than 950 windows and balconies, hence its name - because of the numerous holes in the building there is always a pleasant chill in its interior. Most likely, the palace was built in order to let the royal ladies observe the city life without being seen. The palace is dedicated to Krishna.
