Peacocks are decorative birds from the Indian peninsula. Males are distinguished by beautiful, fan-shaped tails that they display during the mating dance. Green-blue, shimmering peacock feathers have been used in the clothing and jewelery industry. Currently, these birds can be found all over the world, both in private farms, as well as in city parks, botanical and zoological gardens, where they are eagerly photographed by walkers. In India, the peacock is particularly celebrated, in Japan it symbolizes longevity, in European culture it is more often associated with vanity and pride.
