Plaza Mayor in Trinidad (Cuba)
Trinidad is a small town located in the center of Cuba. It was founded in 1514 and owed its development primarily to the production and trade of sugar. Numerous historic monuments are located around the Plaza Mayor – a fashionable square in the historic town center. This is where the Baroque Cathedral of Iglesia de la Santisma is situated. The Plaza Mayor is surrounded by beautiful houses built in the times of prosperity of the sugar industry by affluent residents. After exploring Trinidad, visitors may take a sit on a cast-iron bench in the shade of palm trees and hedges that decorate the square.
