Polana Massif of volcanic origin is located in the central part of Slovakia, in the Inner Western Carpathians. The Polana Massif is crowned with a characteristic peak of the same name, which rises 1,458 meters above sea level. The massif is covered with dense forests and rock formations that are crossed by branching streams. Its area belongs to the Poľana Mountains Protected Landscape Area, which is famous for its breathtaking views. The name of the massif probably comes from the picturesque vast mountain meadows.
