Polish stamps - 1978
Post stamps commemorate usually more or less sublime events and their anniversaries or famous and distinguished people. The subject-matter is very often more prosaic - nature, architecture, technique, or art. In 1978 stamps were depicting among others the first space flight of a Pole, a hundredth anniversary of Janusz Korczak's birthday, Football World Cup in Argentina and the 50th anniversary of Warsaw zoo. What is more, the history of railway, Polish aviation, dramaturgy masterpieces and environment protection became the subjects of stamps that year.
