Portland (USA)
Portland is the biggest city in the state of Oregon, USA. It is located where the Willamette river meets the Columbia river. Portland is often referred to as the City of Bridges (due to a large number of such constructions which a located there). The city is divided into 5 parts: North, North-West, North-East, South-West and South-East and is inhabited by 575 930 people (the whole agglomeration counts about 2 million people). Portland was established in1844 and was granted the city rights seven years later. The city has got the sea port and the airport. Ursula K. Le Guin, a fantasy author of the Earthsea Trilogy which is the classics of this type of literature, lives in Portland.
