Providence, Rhode Island (USA)
Providence is the largest city in the American state of Rhode Island, located on Narragansett Bay. It was founded in 1636 by a theologian Roger Williams, an exile from the English settlement of Massachusetts Bay Colony. The city has developed mainly thanks to trade and the textile industry. Formerly, Providence was referred to as Beehive of Industry. Two rivers, the Moshassuck and Woonasquatucket, flow through the city center. The most characteristic buildings in the skyline of Providence include the granite, postmodern skyscraper known as 50 Kennedy Plaza, One Financial Plaza and Industrial National Bank Building. All three buildings are well known to fans of the animated series titled Family Guy.
