Puente Nuevo Bridge in Ronda (Spain)
Ronda is an Andalusian town located on a steep plateau in the Spanish province of Malaga. The first settlement in this place was founded by the Celts. Thanks to the deep El Tajo gorge and the possibility of erecting residential buildings on its edges, the town had enormous defensive potential. The monumental one-hundred-meter Puente Nuevo, connecting two parts of the town, is Ronda's well-known landmark. The construction of the bridge lasted over forty years and was completed in 1793. There was a prison over the central arch of the bridge.
