Pura Ulun Danu Bratan (Indonesia)
Pura Ulun Danu Bratan is a Hindu temple located on the island of Bali. The temple complex dedicated to the water goddess Dewi Danu was built in the seventeenth century. Some of the buildings are located on the shores of Lake Bratan, whereas others rise above its surface as they are erected on the small islands. The lake and sanctuary are surrounded by a beautiful garden full of colorful flowers. Pura Ulun Danu Bratan occupies an important place in the local Hindu worship, because proper irrigation of rice fields is the key factor in the existence of many residents of Bali. The most photographed object of the temple is the pavilion with a distinctive, eleven-layer roof.
