Rainbow Bridge is a well-known Japanese bridge connecting the two shores of Tokyo Bay. A two-deck, almost 800-meter structure was opened in 1993. The bridge's white pylons are illuminated after sunset by special lamps placed on supporting wires, the colors are mostly red and green, hence its nicknames "Rainbow" or "RB" (Rainbow Bridge). Colorful illumination is sometimes adapted to the celebrations of individual holidays. This suspension bridge is designed for cars and trains, but it also has scenic walkways for pedestrians.
