Nexø, a town located on the island of Bornholm, has a long fishing tradition. To date, a few dozen characteristic fishing boats depart from the port of Nexø to catch cod. When the boats return to the harbor they are accompanied by flocks of seagulls, trying to get leftovers from bridges and the seashore. In the port there are unloading docks, warehouses, cold storage chambers and a shipyard. Traditional boats require systematic inspections, repairs and maintenance – it is particularly important since the boats are also a tourist attraction for those who are eager to photograph the colorful sides of Bornholm cutters.
