Ibiza is the third largest and most populous island of the Spanish Balearic Islands, located east of the Iberian Peninsula. Although it is not the largest, tourists consider this island the most popular of the region. Increased interest of tourists in Ibiza falls on the 1970s. Initially, the subculture of hippies came there, but over time the island began to attract travelers who were not involved in the movement. Ibiza experienced another period of popularity in the 1990s, when once again it become a favorite place for young people – this time fans of electronic music. The world-famous music clubs make Ibiza the world capital of music genres such as techno or trance.
