Jostedalsbreen Glacier, the largest in Norway (area of 600 square kilometers), is located in the neighborhood of the town called Briksdal. From that town there is the most often attended tourist route. The road to the glacier leads through valleys and numerous ice tongues, as well as through waterfalls (tourists have to go underneath one of them). After reaching the front of the glacier it is possible to go further only when the weather is favorable and on the condition of being equipped in a proper climbing equipment.
