Rocky town in Cappadocia (Turkey)
Cappadocia is the historic land located in north-east of Turkey. Characteristic rocky forms built of volcanic tuff create an amazing, moon-like landscape. Apart from houses, there were also numerous churches cut in the rocks. They date back to the period of the Byzantine Empire - first hermitages come from the 4th century A.D.
