Panorama of Rome (Italy)
Rome, the capital of Italy that is also called the Eternal City, lies on the Mediterranean and the Tiber River. According to legend, the city was founded by Romulus – the son of the god Mars – in the eighth century BC. The most valuable monuments of Rome include the Flavian Amphitheater, i.e. the famous Colosseum, and the ruins of ancient temples located at the Roman Forum. At present, Rome is a metropolis attracting millions of tourists, nevertheless, thanks to its rich history it has remained a magical place with a unique atmosphere.
