Breisach am Rhein is located in the German state of Baden-Württemberg, near the border with France and a few dozen kilometers from the border with Switzerland. The town is known for its wine and spas. The vicinity of Breisach also attracts fishing enthusiasts. The most important religious building of the town is the cathedral of St. Stephan, it located on a hill overlooking the entire area. In the church of St. Stephen, however, there is a unique sixteenth-century winged altar depicting the coronation of Mary and the images of martyrs.
