Seaside promenade in San Juan (Puerto Rico)
San Juan is the largest city and the capital of Puerto Rico, a country lying on an island of the same name located in the Caribbean Sea and Atlantic Ocean. The oldest part of this city founded in the 16th century is called Old San Juan – it houses historic buildings, numerous churches and squares. The whole was surrounded by a wall of over 12 meters, protecting port residents against invasion from the sea. Currently, these fortifications do not serve a military function anymore and at their top there is a wide promenade, from which tourists may admire a view of the beautiful architecture of the city as well as the blue sea.
