Spanish dish with potatoes
Boiled, grated or chopped potatoes are an important ingredient in Spanish cuisine. Thanks to regular rainfall, especially in the north of Spain, a lot of potatoes and other vegetables are grown. It is significant to mention the influence of Mexican cuisine. Potatoes are an inseparable ingredient of Spanish omelets and tortillas, and those boiled in their skins – called Papas arrugadas – are particularly popular in the Canary Islands. Patatas bravas is a simple appetizer made of potato pieces fried in oil served with sauce. On the other hand, puree with bacon or chorizo as well as hot pepper can be a separate dish or a nutritious side to a meal.
