Somers Town district is located in the north-west of London. Tourists visiting the district may admire the old Anglican church of St. Pancras. The temple that had existed earlier in this place was falling into disrepair for decades, however, in the Victorian era – due to the growing population of residents – it was decided to restore it. The church was enlarged and a new tower was built. The building is surrounded by gardens and a historic cemetery, where remains of many aristocrats, artists, scientists, local priests and politicians rest. In today’s England, there are many churches dedicated to Saint Pancras. There is also a district in London named after this Roman martyr.
