Bali is one of the Lesser Sunda Islands in Indonesia. There is a Hindu temple of Tanah Lot, picturesquely situated among the waters of the Indian Ocean. The name of this 16th sixteenth-century building literally means the "land in the sea", which emphasizes its unparalleled location on the rock washed by waves. In order to get to the temple one should go through shallow water, being aware of the tides. Tanah Lot can be entered only by the faithful - tourists may admire the temple only from the outside. The water spring, which comes from the ocean but gives water that is not salty, is another tourist attraction.
