The picturesque Valley of Five Ponds is located in the Polish High Tatras, in the Tatra National Park. It has a glacial origin and a crescent shape of the bottom covered with dwarf mountain pine. The largest glacial body of water in the Valley of the Five Ponds is Great Polish Pond. Other lakes are Hinder Polish Pond, Black Polish Pond, Front Polish Pond and Little Polish Pond. There are numerous hiking trails in the valley. The highest situated mountain shelter in Poland was built by Front Polish Pond, 1671 meters above the sea level.
