The Cliffs of Moher (Ireland)

The Cliffs of Moher are located on the Atlantic Ocean, in western Ireland. In the 19th century the O’Brien’s Tower was built on the top of the steep cliffs in order to serve observational purposes. The cliffs take their name from an old fort that once stood on one of the cliffs. Tourists may admire not only the Ocean while standing on top of the cliffs but also rocks observing them from a different perspective – travelling on board of a ferry that sails at the foot of the cliffs. The landscape was used as the setting of the film titled Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
