State Theatre in Košice (Slovakia)
Košice is a big Slovak city situated in the Valley of Košice on the river Hornád. Štátne Divadlo, i.e. the State Theatre, is situated in the city center, in 58 Hlavná street. The neo-Baroque building of the theatre, designed by Adolf Lang, was opened in 1899. It is also located near the Art Nouveau building, which houses the so-called Malá Scéna (literally: small stage). In front of the main entrance to the theater there is a well-kept park with a playing and colorfully illuminated fountain. The theater is most often photographed from the tower of Saint Elisabeth Cathedral, located on the other side of the park.
