Thread spools
Thread is made of thin twisted fibers such as wool, cotton, silk or polyester. They are usually sold tightly wound on a plastic, wooden or cardboard spool, which prevents tangling and knotting. Thread – apart from its utilitarian function – occupy an important place in European culture. In Greek and Roman mythology the three goddesses of destiny spun the thread of human life. On the other hand, Theseus, the mythological murderer of the Minotaur, escaped from the labyrinth thanks to a ball of thread that he received from Ariadne.
