Tower Bridge in London (United Kingdom)
Tower Bridge is a drawbridge over the Thames River, located near the Tower of London (from which its name originates). Tower Bridge is one of the most characteristic points of London due to its two main towers, connected by platforms which serve the function of footbridges for pedestrians. The bridge was built in the Victorian style towards the end of 19th century. Under the Tower Bridge ships, which are up to 40.5 m high may sail. Present colors - pale blue, white and red - associated with the flag of the United Kingdom - the bridge got in 1977, on the 25th anniversary of Queen Elisabeth II coronation. The Tower Bridge is the second most often visited monument of London, after the Big Ben.
