Town of Colmar (France)
Colmar is the capital of the French department of Haut-Rhin in Alsace. The town is famous for its wine production and the neighborhood called Little Venice. In this charming corner colorful half-timbered houses and flowering shrubs are reflected in the surface of the river Lauch flowing through the town. The canal can be crossed by a boat. Colmar was left almost unscathed from World War II, thanks to that it preserved a large part of its late medieval buildings. The town has a museum dedicated to the sculptor Frédéric August Bartholdi, there is also the former Dominican monastery.
